The second lowest 800 series model was available in both fastback and saloon guises. Its market area was top Cavalier and Sierra markets and also the lower end of the Executive market. A well equipped and nicely finest executive car with all the Rover touches but at an affordable price.

Earlier models are recognized by the Big 'E' after the 820 bit. They feature more plusher Si style trim and also feature electrically adjusted door mirrors. Rovers cost cutting exercise lead to the loss of these features on later models. Also the later 820e models had coin holders in the center console with the window switches which were moved from the doors to here. Some models have a sunroof as well.
